Madame Claude's forecast for the 2019 hair trends

2019’s Biggest Hair Trends
What colors, haircuts, and styles are on our trend radar for the next year? Here are some hints: shaggy layers, glossy and a soft nude palette of hair painting.  This year’s most-anticipated trends Are ………
1. Monotone Haircolor
We all love dimensional balayage…but glossier and shinier monotone hues this year (2019). You will be seeing deep and shiny blueish black shades. It’s a bit more low-maintenance and chic.
The ombre is stepping aside and making way for Monotone strands.

2. ’90s Shags & Fringe
It’s shagadelic, baby.  We are warming our razor-cutting techniques. The midlength ’90s shag haircut is back and with more layered than ever. Feathered ends and layers add body, movement and look great on girls with wavy and straight hair.
What’s a shag without some face-framing fringe? I think not.  Expect to see eyebrow-grazing curtain bangs that frame the face and cheekbones. If you’re getting the fringe fever, we will guide through styling and maintenance tips. We will help you to choose the right length for their face shape. And another plus to this look at Claude Thomas Salon and we do not charge you for your follow up bang trim.

3. Nude Balayage
Living coral may be the Pantone Color of the Year, but the soft and peachy nude palette is one of our favorite hair painting trends. What’s the best way to pick a shade?   Show our stylists your favorite nude lip gloss or lipstick and then we will match the balayage to that color.

4. Soft & Brushed-Out Texture
Want a break from styling beachy waves back-to-back?! We’ve got you covered. 2019 trend predicts more brushed-out looks, softer waves, and bobs that will reign over the tousled and textured looks of yesteryear.

5. Glossy Blunt Bobs & Lobs
Its official: We’re bringing blunt lines and cropped haircuts into 2019.  This look is especially flattering on women with heart-shaped faces or defined jawlines. With the proper cut and proper length, the blunt bob or lob will highlight all of your best features! This is timeless and oh so very chic.

6. Warm Brunette Tones
Who doesn’t want French girl hair?  The warmer brown shades are on the trend radar—think golden, reddish and solid warm tones that will brighten up any brunette.

7. Half Up, Half Down Styles

Last year was all about the ponytail but now we’re are the transitioning into more half up, half down styles.  This look gives a high fashion vibe without being too over the top. There’s also a ton of styling options. Half up looks involve giving some structure to the top of the head like a ponytail, bun or a strategic part which gives the crown more volume than a fully down style.

Madame Claude's take on the shag for 2019 ...The 2019 trend to get on board with. The cut for the next Decade

Having been in this industry for going into the 46th year, I have seen all the trends within these decades and also studied and researched hair couture centuries back to have a feel for where we've been and where we may be going.  The art of hair styling is an amazing and fascinating study. The creativity and ingenuity is quite an achievement.  Makes me proud to say, " I am a hairstylist".
Enough about me....just letting you know, I have the passion for my industry and all of my clients that I have had the privilege to work my art and craft on.

The blunt Lob and/or Bob have seen their fair share of the attention for about\ half a decade, it’s the new shag that’s taking over fashion, celebrities, and salons everywhere. Flashback to Stevie Nicks, Jane Fonda, David Cassidy, and Mick Jagger with their choppy shag cuts, I want you to instead envision a new, more flattering shag everyone is going to be rocking this year and years to come. This modern nod to the shag cut that reigned supreme in the 1970s is just as mussed and layer-heavy, but a lot softer in its approach. And it’s so flattering trending, going into 2019 and beyond.

This layer-packed cut may seem intimidating as the term layered is a word avoided for way to long.  The new shag is approachable, softer, and not one-size-fits-all.  The hair texture will dictate your most flattering length.  Bang can be optional but the opted bangs are eyebrow-grazing and longer on the sides, and oodles of layers give the midsection major volume and body but the layers are softer layers not choppy. This look is easy to style. Styling the hair is done wet to encourage texture, but can be almost dry for a slightly sleeker look. I am telling you there are so many ways to style a modern shag that I know you’ll be feeling adventurous on your next trip to your favorite salon.
Can work on all types of hair from medium to thick density and straight to curly hair. For those who have quite thin hair you still can have this look with hair extension options and those who have really curly hair, no problem, think keratin treatments and/or re-texturing treatments.

The other exciting news with this Shag look is the new dimensional color looks will blow your mind.
